“Police in Shrewsbury are warning residents in Belle vue to tighten up on their security following three reported burglaries in the area. One house and two sheds were broken into and in another separate incident two men were disturbed as they attempted to get into a house. The incidents all happened in the early hours of Thursday and are likely to be all linked. Police are urging all residents to take every precaution to protect their property”
In all likelihood all of these incidents would have been preventable with adequate and appropriate security. I have noticed just this week after completing works in Belle Vue on a house of outstanding value and character that it was woefully and inadequately secured on all of its external doors. Fresh fitting of BS3621 mortice deadlocks even on old doors of character is possible and does not detract from the properties character whilst ensuring the property is at a minimum compliant with insurance requirements.
